Who Else Wants Six-Figure Freedom?
March 21, 2007 by David Cowgill
When people get started with their real estate investing, they dream of creating a six-figure annual income stream, but deep down many of them have doubts that they themselves can make it happen. Understand that they’re still going to be naysayers out there, people who say you can’t do it in today’s market or in today’s economy. But you do have a choice. You can either believe what these financially stressed out individuals are preaching to you, or you can go outside your comfort zone and chase after the future you want and deserve.
Now tell yourself that you’re going to stick with it until you succeed. You are going to keep learning from your experiences and those of other seasoned investors until you succeed. You’re never going to take even a moment to talk with naysayers until you succeed. Then you’re probably not going to say a word to them; instead you’ll just smile.
Think of buying a property as planting a money seed. You plant the seed, take care of it over time, and at some point in the future you harvest your crop. This type of thinking gives you the advantage over most investors. There has recently been a time where interest rates have been extremely low and real estate prices flying off the charts. The investors who bought property quick to later flip it no longer exist in today’s economy. There were of course many people who made a lot of money doing this and they should be proud of their accomplishments however, it’s very rare you find people still succeeding with this today.
If you want to earn that six-figure income from real estate investing it’s not going to happen overnight. It takes time to educate yourself first on how real estate works and then find an area where you can actually practice by purchasing your first investment property. Whatever books you read or seminars you attend that lead you to believe you can get rich quick is just not been honest with you. If it was that easy then why aren’t there more six-figure income real estate investors out there?
My point is to start small and understand how real estate investing first works. Then as you slowly build your real estate portfolio you’ll be more comfortable and have more confidence in what you’re doing. Each seed that shoe plant brings you one step closer to that six figure income most people just dream of. Hope to see you on the other side.

I cant agree with you more, when it comes to real estate investment in today’s market you need to take it slow and smart. Learn what you can and don’t over stress your budget. Ask as many questions before you just jump into anything.
